Ingredients
-
1½ lbs ground chuck (80/20 blend)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
-
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
-
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
-
4 burger buns
-
4 slices of cheddar, gouda, or American cheese
-
Lettuce, tomato, pickles (optional toppings)
-
Chipotle mayo, mustard, or burger sauce of choice
Instructions
-
Preheat your Weber BBQ grill to 450–500°F with the lid closed. Clean and oil the grates.
-
Divide ground beef into 4 equal 6 oz patties. Gently shape and press a small indent in the center of each.
-
Season both sides of the patties with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire if using.
-
Place patties on direct heat. Close the lid and cook for 4–5 minutes per side, until internal temp reaches 160°F.
-
Add cheese slices after the final flip, close the lid, and melt for 1 minute.
-
Move burgers to indirect heat and toast buns for 30–60 seconds.
-
Assemble burgers with toppings and sauces. Serve immediately with BBQ sides.
Notes
-
For extra smoky flavor, add hickory or applewood chunks to the coals.
-
Use 80/20 beef for the juiciest results.
-
Only open the lid when flipping or adding cheese—keep it closed to trap heat and flavor.
