Description

Grilled cinnamon rolls bring the rich, gooey flavor of oven-baked rolls to your backyard. They’re quick, smoky, and perfect for summer brunch. This simple recipe gives you golden-brown rolls with soft centers and irresistible icing—right on your grill!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can refrigerated cinnamon rolls (or 6 homemade rolls)

  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing pan)

  • Optional toppings:

    • Maple glaze

    • Cream cheese frosting

    • Toasted pecans

    • Fresh fruit or zest

    • Chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium heat (around 350°F). Close the lid and allow it to stabilize.

  2. Lightly butter a cast iron skillet or grill-safe pan.

  3. Place cinnamon rolls in the pan, spacing them at least ½ inch apart.

  4. Set the skillet on the grill grates. Close the lid and cook for 15–20 minutes.

  5. Rotate the pan halfway through for even browning.

  6. Check doneness: rolls should be golden on top and slightly firm around edges.

  7. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  8. Drizzle with icing or your favorite toppings before serving.

Notes

  • Use foil to tent the skillet if your grill runs hot to prevent burning the tops.

  • For homemade dough, roll tightly and avoid overfilling to prevent soggy bottoms.

  • Grilled fruit or a fresh salad pairs beautifully with these rolls for brunch.
